Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 185 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, which remain superficial and repetitive. While you state a clear position, the arguments provided—such as 'building more apartments on the top'—are underdeveloped and lack logical depth. To improve, you must expand your points with specific examples, data, or logical consequences to fully address the prompt. The conclusion is also incomplete, ending abruptly without summarizing the main points effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices. Transitions like 'The prominent factor' and 'Moreover' are used, but the internal structure of the sentences is often disjointed. For example, the second paragraph contains run-on sentences and unclear referencing, such as 'this is because building new homes this would be beneficial'. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'big', 'good', and 'beneficial' throughout the text. There are also instances of incorrect word usage, such as 'rutated' (likely meant 'stated') and 'zenith points' (which is contextually unnatural). To achieve a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and collocations. For instance, instead of 'big cities', use 'metropolitan areas' or 'densely populated urban centers'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid the repetitive nature of the current draft.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('some individuals believed'), tense consistency, and sentence structure (e.g., 'it required less space this is because...'). Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation. While there is an attempt at complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practicing the correct use of relative clauses and conjunctions to connect ideas accurately.
