Student answer (Band 5.5)
A fair quantity of people believe that to construct big and tall flats or buildings are essential nowadays for increased population to get enough spacing and proper accommodation for them. I strongly agree with this thought.
One of the most convincing reasons behind my agreement is spacious apartments for big or extended families. Example as, if 4 of 5 people family live in 1BHK or 2BHK house that would be inconvenient for them, might not gain their personal space, so having house in apartment can be convenient. Furthermore, living expenses get divided into more people. As an example, light bills and gas bills would be split among them all who live there so it would be better for each and everyone.
Not only this, in case some of the natural disasters the tall building might get helpful. For stance, conditions like flood and tsunami, the big building's residents stay safe in their house they do not have to worry about "what if water comes in their house". Moreover, clean air is also a major factor for residents. Such as, terraces of tall buildings they provide very clean air and soothing effects during evening time and also in early morning.
One the other hand, to stay in flats is quite difficult for elder people they might not get settle in that atmosphere. Nevertheless, in some cases during power cuts, it would be difficult to climb the stairs.
To conclude, tall building in large cities are a great thought by government, it would help to occupy very less space rather than a large area. Besides that, it is also easy for financial convenience.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding natural disasters is logically weak, as tall buildings are not inherently safer during tsunamis or floods. The point about 'clean air' on terraces is also not a strong argument for housing density. While the essay covers the requirements, the supporting examples lack depth and logical rigor. To improve, you should focus on more realistic arguments, such as urban planning efficiency, infrastructure sustainability, or the social impact of high-density living, and provide more detailed explanations for each point.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Example as' and 'For stance' are non-standard and disrupt the flow. While there is an attempt to use transition words like 'Furthermore' and 'Moreover', the logical progression between sentences is sometimes disjointed. The conclusion is brief and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'big', 'good', and 'get'. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'fair quantity of people' instead of 'a significant number of people' and 'gain their personal space' instead of 'enjoy personal space'. The phrase 'financial convenience' is also vague. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations that are appropriate for an academic context, and avoid repetitive or informal phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('tall building in large cities are'), incorrect preposition usage ('stay in flats'), and awkward phrasing ('if 4 of 5 people family live'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence construction to ensure greater accuracy.
