Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention land costs and convenience, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The position is clear, but the discussion of the 'disagree' side is brief and lacks the necessary elaboration to fully support your stance. To improve, ensure that each main point is supported by a clear explanation or a more detailed example rather than just stating the point. The conclusion is also quite abrupt and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand', 'Additionally', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the misuse of 'Nevertheless' in the conclusion. Furthermore, some sentences lack logical flow, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between land costs and apartment capacity is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contemporary epoch', 'plethora', and 'pocket friendly'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'rationals' instead of 'rationales', 'who belongs to a middle class families', and 'Resultanty'. These errors occasionally make the text feel unnatural. To reach a higher band, focus on using vocabulary more precisely and ensuring that collocations (words that naturally go together) are used correctly. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary will also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('everthing are contributing'), incorrect verb forms ('not able to purchased'), and punctuation errors, such as unnecessary spaces before commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
