Student answer (Band 5.0)
I am totally agree with this statement the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks.
In my opinion it is good because currently we don't have enough land for residency houses. if we make apartments its save lot of land ,time and money and this to easy. Most of the countries adapting this thing And people also love to live in apartments instead of big houses.
Well if i give you personal example in my country. In Pakistan we don't have proper place to make homes. many of society built in bank of the river. Every year flood come people need leave their houses. Flood ruin lot of things like homes and furniture and people don't go anywhere to leave their houses. So we need to follow this plan and provide enough homes in big cities by built apartment.
Well few days ago my some family members live in society in Pakistan. Society built in the bank of river Recently moon soon season starts in Pakistan. Lots of raining in Pakistan. Govt announced flood warning in society people needs to leave there houses. And if society owners do their works accordingly rules and regulation and not built society in river bank and make apartments this incident will not happen. And i am agree with this statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position in favor of tall apartment blocks, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. The connection between building apartments and preventing flood damage in Pakistan is tenuous and not fully explained, making the argument less persuasive. To improve, you should expand on the benefits of high-density housing, such as infrastructure efficiency or social connectivity, and ensure your supporting examples are directly relevant to the prompt. Because the essay is under-length and the ideas are underdeveloped, it falls into the lower band range.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the general argument and the personal example is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic and sometimes mechanical way, such as the repetitive use of 'Well' and 'In my opinion'. There is a lack of variety in linking words, which makes the flow of ideas feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to connect sentences and paragraphs more fluidly, and ensure each paragraph has a clear, singular focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'good', 'make', and 'things'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'residency houses' instead of 'residential buildings' and 'many of society built' instead of 'many housing developments were built'. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, and work on using collocations more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'if we make apartments its save lot of land'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors in tense, such as 'Recently moon soon season starts'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which limits your ability to express sophisticated ideas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and pluralization, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect prepositions is essential.
