Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the arguments provided are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. The points regarding land preservation and proximity to workplaces are relevant but are presented in a fragmented manner. To improve, you must expand on your arguments by providing detailed explanations and concrete examples, ensuring that you meet the length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, with an introduction and body paragraphs. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed due to the brevity of the response. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'At first', 'Another major advantage', and 'Furthermore', but they are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly. Paragraphing is present, but the paragraphs are very short and lack internal cohesion. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words to connect sentences and ideas more fluidly, and ensure each paragraph develops a single, clear main idea.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are several spelling errors, such as 'continously' instead of 'continuously', 'hoses' instead of 'houses', 'takle' instead of 'tackle', 'repadly' instead of 'rapidly', and 'heels' instead of 'helps'. These errors, combined with a lack of variety in word choice, make the writing feel basic. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, and proofread your work carefully to correct common spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'population grow' instead of 'population grows', and incorrect sentence structures, such as 'Construct tall buildings helps to solve'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. The range of grammatical structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb forms and subject-verb agreement, and practice using more complex structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences.
