Student answer (Band 5.0)
The appropriate way to give enough homes in huge areas is to construct tall apartments blocks. I completely agree with the statement because number of homes can be built in small areas to be available for any local residents.
Firstly, providing enough homes in large cities in tall apartment is a great idea. Where many of the citizens can live in a single place rather than covering large areas. For example, in a city tall apartments are build that everyone lives and get any type of basic facilities. Furthermore, they can be able to do work there in large cities which is beneficial for the residents and that one who shifts their families in big cities.
Secondly, tall apartment blocks get enough homes in large cities. Which increases in number of homes. For instance, people from outsider can get enough homes in big cities on a rent for their families to live easily without hesitation. In addition, it will be easily available for everyone to get a home in such apartments while covering large areas make difficulty provide enough homes for rent and to buy
in conclusion, providing enough homes in huge apartment blocks is more essential and has greater benefits for the local people while covering large sites may provide difficulty in finding of available homes. I completely agree the statement o making tall apartment blocks is more essential rather than covering a wide range of places.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The arguments regarding 'basic facilities' and 'working in cities' are vague and lack specific, well-developed examples. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum requirement, which significantly impacts the depth of the argument. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and concrete examples, ensuring you meet the word count to fully explore the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the phrase 'that one who shifts their families' or the repetitive use of 'in addition' and 'furthermore'. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing, making the logical flow feel disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence connects naturally to the previous one to create a smoother, more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic terms like 'homes', 'big cities', and 'tall apartments'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic language. Some word choices are imprecise, such as 'covering large areas make difficulty provide enough homes', which impedes clarity. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, such as 'high-density residential developments', 'urban sprawl', or 'infrastructure'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies mostly on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'tall apartments are build') and awkward sentence fragments (e.g., 'Which increases in number of homes'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several sentences ending abruptly or lacking necessary commas. To improve, practice using a mix of complex and compound sentences and pay closer attention to verb tenses and article usage. Proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will help reduce the frequency of these errors.
