Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is argue that the most optimal method to arrange accomodation in megacities is to construct high-rise buildings. I completely agree with the idea that is to build enormous houses for cities people.

There are a number of reasons why I believe that we need to develop large-scale buildings for densely populated cities. One possible reason is if we become able to construct skyscrapers then it will be able to hold a great number of people under one roof. It will take a small to medium space for high-rise building. When a great number of people will start to live there then government will definitely try to improve the opportunities such as public transportation system, sanetari, water distribution process, electricity and many other facilities.

In addition, if we build on the base of this idea then we don't need to destroy our eco-system we can utilize small place and give accomodation service to the city people. With the help of apartment blocks we will be able to protect our forest and natural resouces. Finally, the government and business owners will definitely going to build shopping complexes, cinema hall, park and many other parks for entertainment and everything is going to establish around the urban center which are nearby the apartments ,so that people can easily visit those places and enjoy their leisure time. It is not only going to save time but also saves our money. If we don't make high-density housing blocks then we need to cut plants, need to pond rivers, have to distroy villages.

In conclusion, considering the factors discussed above, I believe making giant size apartments not only help us to give enough accomodations but also saves our environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of high-rise buildings. The ideas are relevant, focusing on space efficiency, infrastructure development, and environmental preservation. However, the development of these points is somewhat repetitive and lacks specific, concrete examples. For instance, the argument about 'improving opportunities' is mentioned but not fully explained with a real-world context. The conclusion summarizes the main points, but the overall development remains at a fairly general level. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations or specific examples of cities that have successfully implemented high-density housing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In addition', 'Finally', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by awkward phrasing. For example, the transition between the environmental argument and the mention of shopping complexes is abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, but the structure of some sentences makes the progression of ideas feel slightly disjointed at times. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks sophistication. There are several instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'enormous houses' instead of 'high-density residential blocks' and 'sanetari' (spelling error for sanitary). Phrases like 'distroy villages' and 'pond rivers' are non-standard and impede clarity. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'megacities', 'high-rise', and 'eco-system', the range is limited. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure accurate spelling of key terms to avoid distracting the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('government will definitely going to'), missing articles ('in small to medium space'), and awkward sentence construction ('It is argue that'). While these errors do not completely prevent understanding, they occur frequently enough to impact the fluency of the text. To achieve a higher score, you should focus on mastering basic sentence patterns, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like missing prepositions or incorrect word forms.
