Student answer (Band 5.0)
When we hear about big cities we first think about tall building and apartments because most of cities are known for its great architecture. In my opinion, in large cities people should construct well-ventilated and spaceius house instead of large buildings.
People always prefer to live in big cities because city life is more comfortable and luxurious. For example, in urban areas we provided markets and hospitals. Soo it make the life easy but the truth is opposite of it. In large towns and cities people become more busy and they don't have enough time for their own family. They spend their most time in earn more money soo that they can survive in the city's luxurious lifestyle. In the result, they forced to live in small and cramped appartments.
In fact, in urban areas people should make not too big building they should invest their money on build more houses instead of a large and cramped appartment. For example, they can construct two story houses where two families can live easily.
The large buildings should build only for the purpose of government sectors. Like if they want to lay the foundation any office or university they should make a huge building to provide space for students and employers. However, people should live in well ventilated houses and make their lives easy.
It is concluded that, people should invest most of their money to make owned houses and don't waste their money on rented apartments. Tall appartments just looks great but from inside these are deadlier.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against tall apartment blocks, favoring individual houses. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention that city life is busy and that tall buildings are 'deadlier,' these points are not fully supported with logical reasoning or concrete examples. The argument regarding government buildings is somewhat tangential and does not directly address the core issue of housing density in large cities. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a clear, well-developed argument that directly supports your main thesis, rather than shifting focus to unrelated topics like university infrastructure.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is basic and occasionally repetitive (e.g., 'For example,' 'In fact,' 'It is concluded that'). Some transitions are used incorrectly, such as 'Soo it make the life easy but the truth is opposite of it,' which creates confusion. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows logically from the previous one, rather than relying on simple, mechanical connectors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You use basic words like 'big,' 'make,' and 'good' where more precise academic vocabulary is required. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'spaceius' (spacious) and 'appartments' (apartments), and word choice issues, such as 'deadlier' to describe buildings, which is not appropriate in this context. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, and pay closer attention to the correct spelling of common words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors, such as 'In the result, they forced to live' (missing 'are') and 'The large buildings should build only' (should be passive: 'should be built'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing auxiliary verbs and incorrect verb forms. Increasing the variety of complex structures will also help improve your score.
