Student answer (Band 6.0)
Most of the people believe that in order to have enough homes in large cities , tall apartment block has to be built. I strongly agree to the statement because in today's time there is rarely any space available to build a big house for everyone.
The major advantage of building a tall apartment is that many people can be accommodated easily. Earlier there was less population and people had plenty of land to build their house so they use to have big tenaments . Looking into this era , population has increased largely and the land available is comparatively less . The prices of the land has gotten over the skies that only wealthy people can afford building a house on their own land or buying a land.
On the other hand , the middle class and poor people work hard still can not afford buying a house and if they do they spend their whole life only saving for the house they would not have enough years of life to live in. So the best way to provide enough homes in larger cities is to build tall apartment blocks . More number of people can accommodate themselves . There are other benefit such as fresh air , peace , good view etc .Options can also be available according to their budget and the location.
Middle class people can apply for loan easily and can buy their dream apartment. However , for the poor people it is still hard to get one so government has a scheme where they build government quaters apartment and give to the people coming below poverty line so that they do not have to stay on the road side .
In conclusion, tall apartment blocks are best way to provide enough home in larger cities as they have their own benefit and it supports the increasing population in the country to not remain homeless.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. The main arguments—population density and land scarcity—are relevant. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For example, the mention of 'fresh air' and 'peace' as benefits of tall apartment blocks is counter-intuitive and lacks explanation, which weakens the argument. While the response covers the task requirements, the ideas could be more thoroughly extended with specific examples or deeper analysis of urban planning challenges to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a central focus. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition 'Looking into this era'. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more fluidly rather than relying on simple sentence structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. There are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'prices of the land has gotten over the skies' (should be 'skyrocketed') and 'government quaters' (spelling error). The range is somewhat limited, relying on repetitive phrasing like 'big house' or 'enough homes'. To improve, you should focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to urban development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('tall apartment block has to be built' instead of 'blocks have') and article usage ('the land available is comparatively less'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the writing.
