Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is believed by few individuals that in some metropolitan areas the homo sapiens cannot afford to by their own house because of rising property rates. I completely agree with this proclamation, the supportive reasons of which shall be discussed in subsequent paragraphs.

To commence with, sharing the points to support given statement. Primarily, in many large cities for example, Bombay and Delhi has high rate of property because huge factories has already established there business and because of that every individual wants to work for their better future. Moreover, the property dealer rise their property rates because they want to earn some money out of it , accordingly people cannot even afford the land . Furthermore, safety is very important for every person and the apartments has that facility for the people to be safe. In addition, no one can enter to these accommodation illegally for example, if someone wants to do robbery they cannot do the robbery to the apartments because of the tight security. Hence, these points are enough to validate given belief.

Conversely, discussing the points to contradict given spread. Undoubtedly, every individuals dream is to have their own house whether if the house is small or big it does not matter to them. Moreover, some migration has 4 to 5 members in the family and because of that they cannot live in the small apartment since everyone wants their own private space, as a result, it leads to have differences in the family. Thus, these views oppose given nation.

To conclude, although the property rate is inclined but everyone should had the right to have their own house, nevertheless it is overloaded with money.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt but lacks depth in its argumentation. While you state your position clearly, the supporting points are somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'safety' in apartments is relevant but not fully linked to the core issue of providing 'enough homes.' The counter-argument is also underdeveloped; you mention family size but do not fully explain why tall blocks fail to accommodate such needs compared to other housing types. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a clear, logical link between the housing solution and the specific problem of urban density. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarize the main points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To commence with, sharing the points to support given statement.' Some transitions feel forced rather than serving to link ideas logically. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, 'these points' and 'given nation' (likely meant 'notion') do not always clearly point back to the preceding arguments. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of linking words would help the essay read more smoothly and logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choice, such as 'proclamation' (which is too formal/legalistic for this context) and 'given spread' or 'given nation' (which are incorrect collocations). You also use 'homo sapiens' in a way that sounds unnatural in an academic essay. While your meaning is generally clear, you should focus on using more natural collocations and academic vocabulary. For example, instead of 'property dealer rise their property rates,' use 'real estate developers increase housing costs.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('factories has already established,' 'apartments has that facility,' 'property dealer rise') and tense inconsistencies. The sentence structures are relatively simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. To reach a higher band, you need to work on consistent subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and incorporating more complex sentence structures (such as relative clauses or conditional sentences) while maintaining accuracy. Proofreading for basic errors like 'to by their own house' (to buy) is essential.
