Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, urban centres have become more popular and common because of more opportunities in all the ways such employment, education, and healthcare. Moreover, big cities provide better lifestyles and good quality of life. Though, I strongly agree with the opinion of providing enough homes in large cities by building tall apartments as this may decrease crowd and like this people will find good places to live.
One of the major advantage of this is that people will find a suitable accommodation and by constructing large apartments people will get influenced to live there and find jobs in cities. Moreover, this will ease their stress of travelling from long routes and also people can get release from spending daily on up and downs from different places. In addition, this will also lead to a development in the cities and country and can increase countries economy by this . Though by building several tall apartments people will get to choose according to their budgets. It is my dream also to live in an apartment and do job in the city but because of daily travels i can’t afford to do it, so Like this i can get a chance to jo job and live also experience city life.
Another advantage would be that this development will result in many mores. Likewise, it will increase market value also. The government will also gain support from people in back .
Summarises, this is the best way to reduce noise and pollution from cities .moreover this will provide homes to the needy ones .I completely agree with this and would recommend everyone to do this

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention benefits like reduced commuting stress and economic growth, these points are not fully supported with specific examples or logical depth. The arguments remain somewhat superficial, and the conclusion introduces new points (noise and pollution reduction) that were not previously discussed in the body paragraphs. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main idea is supported by a clear explanation or a concrete example, and avoid introducing new arguments in the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often disrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive transitions. You use cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In addition,' but they are sometimes used mechanically or inappropriately, such as 'Likewise, it will increase market value also.' The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the progression of ideas within paragraphs lacks a smooth, coherent structure. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea would significantly enhance the readability and logical flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'big cities,' 'good places,' and 'do job.' There are several instances of awkward collocations and non-standard phrasing, such as 'get release from spending daily on up and downs' and 'gain support from people in back.' To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to urban planning and housing, and try to use more sophisticated synonyms to express your ideas more clearly and naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'one of the major advantage'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'like this people will find good places to live'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence structure prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and refining your sentence structure.
