Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a partial agreement, but the development of ideas is limited. While you mention land usage and government stress, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'government stress' is vague and not fully explained. The conclusion is also quite weak, merely restating that there are pros and cons without summarizing the main points effectively. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and provides a concrete example or a more detailed explanation to support your position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'to commence with' and 'on the other hand' are used, but the internal flow within paragraphs is disjointed. There are issues with referencing; for example, the transition between the benefits of apartments and the mention of 'rural areas' in the second body paragraph is abrupt and confusing. Improving the logical connection between sentences would significantly enhance the clarity of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple words like 'build', 'home', and 'people'. There are also noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'shelter pays a crucial role' (should be 'plays') and 'ample of time' (should be 'a lot of time' or 'considerable time'). Some phrases are awkward, such as 'the expense people who belong to rural areas'. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items related to urban planning and housing, and ensure they are used accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('apartment are build'), missing articles ('in cities apartment are'), and incorrect sentence structure ('without hone a people can survive'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and article usage before moving on to more complex grammatical forms.
