Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays as population is increasing year by year. According to last survey the current population of the earth is 7 billion.
But as population is increasing but we are getting shortage of land for homes and even for hospital and for other necessary constructions as well.
Which is not a good thing because as the population is increasing year by year. But we do not have enough space to build more homes. Due to shortage of land the prices of land or properties are getting increase day by day. But we have a solution for this now. We can build tall buildings that gonna have lot off apartments. By which everyone can afford a apartment for them. This is how we can easily solve this problem very easily.
Nowadays, in many crowded cities like (NEW YORK, MUMBAI, DELHI, TOKYO, BERLIN and MAKKAH) they only have tall building apartment for local public to live. Which is a really good solution as it covers less land. And many people can live in one building and we can use other land for the other necessary things.
And living in tall building can solve the problem of parking and many other things as well. As we do not need to build special space for parking. We can make a parking area in the basement of building. And we can also build some little grocery store, gym for people so they can have access to their daily need easily. And they do not need to travel to get these small items. Which will be really beneficial for the public.
In my perspective, tall apartment will be really beneficial for us as it will saves land.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by arguing in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development is limited. While you mention benefits like land conservation and integrated amenities, the ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For example, the argument about parking and grocery stores is a good point, but it is not fully explored in terms of urban planning or social impact. The position is clear, but the essay would benefit from more sophisticated reasoning and a more formal structure to fully meet the requirements of a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical. You rely heavily on simple transition words or repetitive sentence structures. For instance, starting multiple sentences with 'But' or 'And' creates a choppy rhythm. The use of cohesive devices is limited, and the logical progression between the introduction, body, and conclusion could be improved by using more varied linking phrases to connect your arguments more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use basic terms like 'good thing', 'lot off', and 'little grocery store'. There is some attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'crowded cities' and 'urban planning' concepts, but the overall lexical range is narrow. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding informal phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'population is increasing', 'it will saves land'), article usage, and sentence fragments (e.g., 'Nowadays as population is increasing year by year.'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. The majority of your sentences are simple, and you need to demonstrate better control over complex sentence forms and punctuation to achieve a higher score.
