Student answer (Band 5.5)
Most of the citizens wanted to settle in cities for career growth this causes the increase of local roofs. Some people predict that the most appropriate way to provide more living spaces in urban areas is to construct tall apartment blocks. In this essay, I will present my own agree relevant points.
On the one hand, many residents wanted to live in cities in order to fulfill the desire, constructors started building high apartment in urban areas. This may conclude in savage of land. Builders can construct high rising building to make suitable to live in it. Many people want to stay at the top floor, so that on one disturb them by producing noise as well as want to enjoy view. They can easily rent them at cheaper amount as well as it is feasible to common citizens. This may result in advancement in the countries to promote sense of community, the nearby apartment people become neighborhood of each other.
On the other hand, some community people do not want to stay at high rise floor because of their own personal choice. They want to live in horizontal rather than vertical. They believe that living in tall apartments can cause suffering from diseases like asthma mainly common in alder's citizens. They feel the sense of suffocating at higher altitude because of less oxygen present on higher altitude. For instance, elder people suffer the most at living at higher range.
In the conclusion, although it is disadvantageous of staying at higher altitude rather than at ground level, yet I believe it is most advance way to live in higher altitude apartments because residents can enjoy the view and are free from noise.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the construction of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you present both sides, the arguments are often under-developed or based on inaccurate premises, such as the claim that higher altitudes have significantly less oxygen affecting health, which is not a standard argument for urban planning. The position is clear, but the supporting points lack logical depth and real-world relevance. To improve, focus on providing more grounded, analytical arguments regarding urban density, infrastructure, and social impact rather than speculative health claims.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'This may conclude in savage of land' and 'This may result in advancement in the countries' do not effectively link ideas or show logical progression. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between the introduction and body paragraphs feels abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'conversely') would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'increase of local roofs' instead of 'housing demand', 'savage of land' instead of 'land scarcity', and 'alder's citizens' instead of 'elderly citizens'. These errors occasionally make the meaning difficult to grasp. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to urban development and housing, and ensure that you are using words in their correct context rather than relying on literal translations or misused terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('Most of the citizens wanted' instead of 'want'), incorrect verb forms ('constructors started building high apartment'), and awkward phrasing ('nearby apartment people become neighborhood of each other'). Punctuation and article usage are also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally understandable, the persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the writing from reaching a higher level of fluency. Focus on proofreading for basic tense consistency and pluralization.
