Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention population management and social interaction, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For example, the point about 'solving problems' with neighbors is somewhat tangential to the core issue of housing provision. To improve, you should focus on providing more specific, logical explanations for your claims, such as discussing land efficiency or urban infrastructure, rather than repeating the idea that tall buildings 'handle more population' multiple times. The response is somewhat underdeveloped in its reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'At the last' instead of 'Finally' or 'In conclusion'. The progression of ideas is often hindered by unclear referencing; for instance, the transition between the idea of 'personal homes' and 'population control' is confusing. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'First of all' and 'Furthermore', the logical flow between sentences is frequently broken, making the argument difficult to follow in places.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic words like 'homes', 'people', and 'build'. There are also significant issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'control much populations' (should be 'manage large populations') and 'i an employ' (likely meant 'is an employee'). Spelling errors are frequent, such as 'experince', 'competeley', 'enouhg', and 'majour'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your vocabulary to include more precise academic terms related to urban planning and housing, and focus on accurate spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with frequent errors. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('every body do not required'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack necessary prepositions, such as 'i am in apartment'. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing capital letters at the start of sentences and incorrect comma usage. These errors are frequent and often impede the reader's understanding of your intended meaning. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction before attempting more complex structures.
