Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention infrastructure, parking, and space efficiency, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'parking' is quite specific and could have been broadened to discuss urban planning or social density. The conclusion is a summary of points but does not add any further insight. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph explores the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments more thoroughly, providing more sophisticated reasoning rather than just listing features like CCTV or swimming pools.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'In facts' and 'And the final result is' are used awkwardly, and the transition between sentences is sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the third paragraph where the connection between the 'final result' and the argument about space is not logically linked. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence flows naturally from the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'good', 'many', and 'small'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'apartment wings' (instead of 'blocks' or 'towers') and 'hydroilic parking' (likely meaning 'hydraulic' or 'automated'). Some phrases are unidiomatic, such as 'it's prevent to thief'. To improve, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('it is argued that... is to make'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors (e.g., 'Now a days', 'wing's'). The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. For example, 'one of the reason why i agree is, For good infrastructure...' is grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of plural forms. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect apostrophes will also significantly improve your score.
