Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, technology is getting advanced globally including construction sector where small lands can accommodate large population. It is claimed that building high-rise towers is an ideal way to provide sufficient housing in urban areas. I am an strong advocate of this notion and will give relatable reasons for the same in the subsequent paragraphs.
To commence with, I feel constructing multi-story buildings is a beneficial approach towards housing because it can hold more number of people in small area. This need arises because metropolitan cities show continuous increase in the population. For instance, Radhakrishna society used to shelter 500 people, but after the redevelopment of the residency a 10 story flat was built which now comprises of 1500 individuals. Another point to consider is that establishing a structure with more levels can provide space for different amenities like swimming pol, gym, club house, cinema and more which is not possible in a duplex as it will lack in area. Moreover, in recent times almost every family has more than one vehicle, so if a building has multiple floors than it can provide enough parking for all cars and bikes. Furthermore, developing a tall apartment is also cost effective than a bungalow.
However, in high-rise flats use of elevator during electricity cutoff can be a problem. Also there remains a risk of life at times of natural calamities like earthquake, but these situations are very rare.
To conclude, though there are few drawbacks of living in a tall building, the fact remains that there are lot of profits such as adequate parking, good facilities for various activities and most importantly it can hold more number of individuals. Hence I wholeheartedly support the construction of high-rise buildings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of amenities and land efficiency. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the example of the 'Radhakrishna society' is specific, other points, such as the mention of parking, are stated rather than fully explored. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the implications of these points—for instance, explaining how high-density living impacts urban infrastructure or social connectivity. The conclusion effectively restates your position, ensuring the essay remains focused on the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the main arguments from the counter-argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally smooth, but the referencing could be more precise in places. For example, the transition between the benefits of amenities and the benefits of parking could be linked more fluidly to improve the overall flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'metropolitan', 'redevelopment', and 'calamities'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'hold more number of people' (should be 'accommodate a larger number of people') and 'profits' (which usually refers to financial gain, whereas 'benefits' or 'advantages' would be more appropriate here). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is always clear, there are frequent minor errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples include 'I am an strong advocate' (should be 'a strong'), 'in small area' (should be 'in a small area'), and 'than a bungalow' (should be 'than bungalows'). Additionally, there are some issues with article usage and pluralization. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article consistency will help improve your accuracy.
