Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent era, population of a country is increasing day by day and large cities are becoming over crowded. It is often argued that the finest way is to construct large apartment blocks. Consequently it will help to accommodate all residents in well revolutionized cities. I strongly agree with this statement because it would brings several benefits not only for individuals but also for society. This essay will explain some reasons to clarify my views.
The primary reason I am in favor of this statement is that, it will create numerous advantages. If tall apartments built, more residents will get homes at a limited area. All neighbours will live nearer and can help each other at the time need. Moreover, it will enhance the brotherhood in the society and reduce the sense of loneliness. For instance, in well developed cities such as Karachi, there are big apartments where individuals accommodate, usually they come to city as bachelors to do job, after lining in apartments they get new families who cares for them and are always available to help them in time of need. As a result, they fell comfortable to live in a stranger city and become successful.
Another reason is that, it will save the cost of separate watchman for every house, which is necessary for separate homes. Reduces the loneliness and create equality. Beside all these things, it also helps individuals to be relaxed and stress free in sense of mantanance which is provided by the apartment manager. For instance, in banglows individuals have to do all things by their own but in case of apartment all things are managed by manager of the apartment as the light, water and gas and all other basic needs are well maintained.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that having big apartment blocks benefit both humanity and society. Furthermore it makes the cities well organized and enhances its view.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas, such as space efficiency and social benefits, are relevant. However, the development is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding 'brotherhood' and 'loneliness' is mentioned twice, and the point about maintenance is a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced analysis or counter-arguments to demonstrate a more comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in urban planning. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'consequently', 'moreover', and 'in conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be improved to ensure that each sentence flows naturally into the next. Referencing is mostly clear, though some sentences, such as 'Reduces the loneliness and create equality', lack a clear subject, which slightly disrupts the flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'urban planning' (implied) and 'well-developed cities'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'well revolutionized cities', 'lining in apartments', and 'stranger city' (likely meaning 'strange city'). There are also minor spelling errors like 'mantanance' and 'banglows'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('it would brings', 'apartments built', 'individuals accommodate') and article usage. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some comma splices and missing articles that affect the overall accuracy. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical consistency would significantly enhance the quality of your writing.
