Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention space-saving and convenience, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'entertainment points' is mentioned but not fully explored in relation to the necessity of tall buildings. The counter-argument regarding cost is introduced but dismissed too quickly without sufficient analysis. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a clear topic sentence followed by a detailed explanation and a specific, relevant example to support your position more thoroughly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'One key point to this reason is that...' is a slightly awkward transition. There are also issues with referencing; in the second paragraph, the transition between the benefits of space and the examples of parks is somewhat disjointed. While the overall progression is logical, the lack of sophisticated linking words and occasional confusion in sentence flow prevents a higher score. Focus on using a wider variety of transition signals to connect your ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'relax their brain and body' and 'family man gets a transfer'. You rely on basic vocabulary like 'best method', 'good', and 'convenient'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more academic collocations and topic-specific terminology related to urban planning and housing. Additionally, ensure you are using words in their correct form, as there are minor errors in word choice throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Some Individuals believes', 'adults and children gets'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'it constructing apartments is best way'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing spaces after periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage.
