Student answer (Band 5.0)
This idea is good to utilise less space while giving accommodation to many people however my perspective is different. The people who start living in apartments suffers a lot as compared to the people who live in separate home. Let me explain, the first point is price, a family who wants to live in 5th floor have to pay the price of apartment equally to the family who wants to live in ground floor. Secondly the upper floor is more hotter in summer as compared to ground floor and in winter upper portions are more cooler than ground floor which is also a point to disagree.
If there is no elevator in apartment, then it's become difficult for the top floors family to group and down through stairs. Also no one from the lower floors want to go on roof today their washed clothes which is also a disadvantage. So I'm not agree with this idea

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 156 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments provided are superficial and lack the necessary depth or supporting evidence required for an academic essay. While a position is stated, the arguments regarding apartment living (such as temperature differences or laundry access) are not well-developed or relevant to the broader urban planning context of the prompt. The response is too brief to fully address the complexities of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into two short paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'firstly' and 'secondly', they are used mechanically. The transition between ideas is often abrupt, and the lack of a clear introduction and conclusion makes the overall structure feel incomplete. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow of ideas is hindered by the brevity of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. There are several word-choice errors, such as 'more hotter' and 'more cooler' (which are grammatically incorrect comparatives) and 'group and down' (which is unclear). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands, as the student relies on simple, everyday language throughout the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'the people who start living in apartments suffers' (subject-verb agreement error), 'the upper floor is more hotter' (incorrect comparative structure), and 'I'm not agree' (incorrect verb form). The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with very few attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and sentence boundaries.
