Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 136 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you attempt to state a position, the ideas are significantly underdeveloped and lack the necessary depth for an academic essay. The example provided regarding the 'MLA' is anecdotal and lacks clear relevance to the broader urban planning argument. To improve, you must expand your arguments with logical reasoning and provide more substantial, relevant examples. The essay also ends abruptly mid-sentence, indicating that the task was not completed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction, body paragraphs are not clearly defined, and the conclusion is missing. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often misused, such as the awkward transition 'yes even so i am not completely sure'. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the sentences are disjointed and the logical flow is interrupted by the incomplete final sentence. To improve, you should use clear paragraphing and transition words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to link your ideas logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is basic and often imprecise. Phrases like 'big town' and 'lofty suites blocks' are not appropriate for an academic context. There is frequent misuse of words, such as 'surface or property' to describe land availability. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to urban development and housing to improve your lexical range and precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammar is characterized by frequent errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and fragments. Punctuation is largely ignored, and there are errors in subject-verb agreement and tense usage, for example, 'there was many problem raise'. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct punctuation and verb tenses, before attempting more complex structures.
