Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years building tall apartments are significantly increasing , many large cities in the world are constructing high rise apartments for providing sufficient homes for the people, however their are a lot of drawbacks which are not overlooked.
One of the main advantage of high rise apartments is less land consumption which are built vertically and also accommodates more people, where people live in sequential order, the people who want to live in cities for their job or children education can get this apartments in affordable budget. Additionally, the amenities which they provide are amazing in experience like swimming pool, indoor stadium, club house and many other things. Furthermore, the expansion of urban area becomes less and the growth chances of green spaces increases.
Moreover, despite these benefits, there are certain disadvantages. A significant drawback of high rise buildings is overpopulation, where they put considerable pressure on existing infrastructure, including roads, public transport and other essential services. In addition, large apartment complexes may reduce the availability of green spaces, which can negatively affect residents' quality of life. For example, if a city relies heavily on high-rise buildings without developing parks and other public facilities, residents may have limited access to open spaces for recreation. Therefore, cities should adopt a more balanced approach by combining high-rise apartments with low-rise housing and well-planned suburban communities.
In conclusion, building high rise apartments offers a shelter in low price and a good experience of amenities, less urban expansion but it also becoming overcrowded and having limited green spaces.
In my view building high rise apartments will continue to grow and also combination of low rise housing should also need be grow, this will help in making balanced infrastructure and green spaces.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that supports a balanced approach. The ideas are relevant, such as the benefits of land efficiency and the drawbacks of infrastructure strain. However, the development is somewhat uneven; while the advantages are listed, they could be supported with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points and restates the position. To reach a higher band, ensure that each body paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed argument rather than listing multiple points briefly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'One of the main advantage', 'Additionally', 'Furthermore', and 'Moreover' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing (e.g., 'their are a lot of drawbacks' should be 'there are'). Paragraphing is generally appropriate, though the final paragraph is quite short and could be better integrated into the overall structure to improve the flow of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'sequential order' and 'infrastructure', but some word choices are imprecise or slightly unnatural, such as 'get this apartments' instead of 'obtain these apartments' or 'a shelter in low price' instead of 'affordable housing'. There are also minor errors in collocation and word form, but these do not impede communication. Expanding the range of academic collocations would help improve the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'building tall apartments are', 'one of the main advantage') and pluralization (e.g., 'get this apartments'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and comma splices. While the meaning is generally clear, these errors are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with accurate subordinate clauses.
