Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 198 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments remain superficial and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the body paragraphs are underdeveloped. To improve, you must expand on your points by providing specific examples or deeper analysis of the social, economic, or environmental implications of tall apartment blocks. The current length prevents a full exploration of the topic, resulting in a limited response that does not fully address the complexity of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression is hindered by the lack of depth and the brevity of the text. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic and sometimes repetitive manner, such as the frequent use of 'so' to connect ideas. There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to guide the reader through your arguments. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of transition signals (e.g., 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' 'in addition to this') to create a smoother flow between your sentences and paragraphs.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally functional but limited, often relying on simple or repetitive language. For example, you use 'large' and 'cities' multiple times, which restricts the range of your expression. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'agee' instead of 'agree', 'accomodate' instead of 'accommodate', 'preffered' instead of 'preferred', and 'congusted' instead of 'congested'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct spelling. Focus on learning synonyms for common words to avoid repetition and improve the overall sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('population increase', 'student live'), incorrect verb forms ('build tall apartment blocks' instead of 'building'), and awkward sentence structures ('Due to the population increase and the migration towards cities makes the cities congusted'). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent. To improve, practice using a mix of simple and complex sentences and pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
