Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is a commonly held perception that better way to provide homes in big cities is to build apartment blocks for those who needs. Indeed to my mind , I entirely advocate this notion and this is primarily due to the fact that it not only provides a peaceful environment for all the individuals but also provides them basic amenities for their good standard of living. every aspect of this prompt will be addressed with strong justification and revenant exemplification subsequently .

Predominantly, tall buildings provide a peaceful environment for all the individuals those who are living in a contemporary society. This is undoubtedly due to the fact that as in this modern era everyone is lacking behind their success due to their hectic and mechanical routines , they are more stressed and have less time to enjoy with their families . However; the great way to provide enough houses in large metropolitan cities is to build more luxury apartments as they have all the facilities such as electricity , water and garbage management system . It possibly enhance the overall mindset and environment of the society. Furthermore , a notable illustration could be perhaps that government should provide local people to enhance their mind to live a luxury life . Hence, the more will be the tall building , the less will the slum areas.

Another pivotal aspect could be perhaps that , it provides them basic amenities for their good standard of living . This is certainly because most of the people have stress and anxiety due to their excessive work loads and pressure of their wards future which totally affects their health as in large cities there are numerous campaigns in the society which give brief explanation about the stress relief and other major issues due to that their should be tall apartment blocks rather than areas of small town as it gives more space to the public to move and also reduces the traffic congestion . More specifically, it provide the latest technology such as 24/7 internet facilities , club , sports centre and super market as well. A compelling piece of evidence could be perhaps that in Japan the apartment blocks have wending machines which provides every eatable and electronic items for everyone who needs in emergency. Therefore , the less the technology , the more will be the crisis of the homes.

As such it can be conclusively reiterated that although tall apartment blocks not only provides a peaceful environment but also provides them all the basic amenities for every individual . Nevertheless , if , in the future , any pragmatic and optimistic approach is adapted the negative consequences of homes in large cities will fall entirely away .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is often repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument that tall buildings reduce stress is asserted but not logically explained; the connection between high-rise living and mental health is tenuous. The examples provided, such as the mention of vending machines in Japan, are somewhat tangential and do not strongly support the core argument regarding urban housing solutions. While the response covers the requirements, the reasoning is frequently circular, which limits the overall impact of the argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Predominantly,' 'Furthermore,' and 'Hence.' However, the use of these devices is often mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the misuse of semicolons and the awkward transition 'a notable illustration could be perhaps that.' The progression of ideas is occasionally disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the link between luxury apartments and traffic congestion is not clearly established. Paragraphing is present, but the internal flow within paragraphs is hampered by repetitive phrasing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. There is a reliance on basic or repetitive terms like 'good standard of living' and 'peaceful environment.' Some collocations are unnatural, such as 'lacking behind their success' and 'ward's future.' While the student attempts to use more academic vocabulary, the usage is often imprecise or slightly off-target, such as 'revenant exemplification' (likely meaning 'relevant') and 'eatable items.' The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but it does not demonstrate a sophisticated command of lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'those who needs,' 'it provide'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors, particularly with commas and semicolons. The sentence structure is often clunky, and some phrases are syntactically incorrect, such as 'the less will the slum areas.' While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of minor errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention to basic grammar rules and sentence construction is necessary.
