Student answer (Band 6.0)
I'm completely in the support of this statement that says the best method to provide enough housing units in large urban areas is to build tall apartment blocks.
First of all, there is a massive benefit in constructing tall residential buildings, which is that it saves much land since these buildings are being created vertically and have a good amount of length. Thus, these tall residential blocks can contain upto several individuals and large families in the small amount of land since the floors are sequentially in vertical order ends up saving huge amount of land providing facility to build new construction sites. For instance, there is 8 acres of land area. If one tall apartment block would be constructed, it would take upto only 3 acres of land. The building would contain 10 floors in it with 70 flats in total, providing housing units to numerous individuals. Thus, I believe the best method to provide enough houses in large urban areas is to build tall apartment blocks.
On the other hand, the separate small housing units would present us the touch of oldschool and traditional era. It would be adored by many individuals and would make them feel nostalgic. However, there wouldn't be any benefit in it if we look at it from logical percpective. The separate housing units would take up much space and only few people in each house.
By summarizing, it is to be concluded that the logical and sensible method to provide enough residential facilities to public in large cities is to construct tall building blocks rather than making small separate houses.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the argument for land efficiency is supported with a concrete example, the counter-argument regarding traditional housing is underdeveloped and lacks depth. The essay would benefit from exploring more complex aspects of the issue, such as infrastructure, social isolation, or community living, rather than focusing solely on land usage. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the points made. To reach a higher band, ensure that all arguments are balanced and fully explored with more sophisticated reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'Thus', and 'On the other hand', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'Thus' and 'In conclusion' style phrasing. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved to sound more natural. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the final paragraph is quite brief and could be better integrated into the overall structure of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are some awkward phrasings, such as 'I'm completely in the support of this statement' and 'good amount of length'. The use of 'oldschool' is too informal for an academic essay. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'residential buildings' and 'urban areas', the overall lexical range is somewhat limited and repetitive. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding informal or redundant expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'upto' (should be 'up to'), 'percpective' (spelling), and 'By summarizing' (should be 'To summarize'). Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'the floors are sequentially in vertical order ends up saving', which lacks grammatical cohesion. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. Increasing the variety of complex structures and proofreading for minor errors would significantly improve the score.
