Student answer (Band 5.0)

The magnificent way to get more houses in the metropolitan areas to consturct biggest buildings blocks.

We are living a that kind of era which is most fast growing era in the back centuries. Because the every sector and field increasing surprisingly as well as population. the massive increase in masses can cause traffic and living problems.

Therfore, apartments is the best way to obtain the house for everybody who has low income and want to live in house.

I am strongly agree with this statement that if government allow to build new more various floors building it can help in the housing sector crisis.

I have a who has lower income and want live in house which has kitchen, laundry, couple rooms and parking space, so he got a apartment with two friends therefore is rent is not much so he can ive in beautiful house with less income.

On the other hand, some people who are disagree with apartment because they think, they can lose their privacy if they live in the that kind of buliding. So the coin has two side one of them is good the other one is bad.

In conclusion, if people have under middle class income and they are very cooperative, good neighbour and want to live in well maintained house, they can afford that to live a easy life and they can be more socialize people than anyone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The argument relies on a single personal anecdote about a friend, which lacks the depth required for an academic essay. Furthermore, the response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of the argument. To improve, you should provide more substantial, generalized arguments supported by clear examples or logical reasoning rather than relying on personal narratives.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow between ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices like 'Therefore' and 'On the other hand' are used, they are sometimes applied incorrectly or in a way that feels mechanical. The progression of ideas is hindered by the lack of clear topic sentences and supporting details. The conclusion is somewhat abrupt and does not effectively summarize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, often relying on simple phrasing such as 'best way' and 'good/bad'. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'magnificent way' instead of 'effective approach' and 'massive increase in masses'. Spelling errors, such as 'consturct' and 'Therfore', are also present. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise, academic terminology and demonstrate a better understanding of how words collocate in formal writing contexts.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'apartments is the best way'), article usage (e.g., 'in the metropolitan areas'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'I am strongly agree'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some attempts at complex ones that are often grammatically flawed. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and pluralization, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
