Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention urban development and access to facilities, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For example, the claim that tall buildings 'increase people population' is unclear, and the link between building height and 'unity' is not well-explained. To improve, you should provide more specific, logical examples or evidence to support your claims, such as discussing land-use efficiency or the economic benefits of high-density housing, rather than repeating general statements about development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'Addition' instead of 'In addition' and 'Explaining some of the another supporting points'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical flow. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects logically to the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic words like 'best way', 'develop', and 'good'. There are also several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'villager cannot bought a house' (should be 'villagers cannot buy') and 'proper used of facilities'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning, such as 'high-density housing', 'infrastructure', 'urban sprawl', or 'sustainable development', and pay closer attention to word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it increase people population'), verb tense (e.g., 'best way was to build'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'if they stay cities with happy'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple or poorly constructed complex sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs match their subjects and that prepositions are used correctly. Reducing these frequent errors is essential for achieving a higher band score.
