Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often argued that by building skyscraper apartments is the best approach to tackle high demand of houses. I partially agree with this view because it has certain cons on human health.
The primary reason why I agree with it is that it protect from further deforestation and loss of habitat. As we know, home is the basic necessity of every human being but to gain people significantly affect their natural environmental that disturb the natural ecosystem and lifecycle of various living things. Consequently, the risk of global warming and extreme weather conditions not only effect the individuals but also disturb natural habitat. So, in that case these types of building protect from these climate changes by providing multiples homes at one place without any disturbance to natural ecosystem. For example, In dubai, these types of housing is very common.
Moreover, these tall apartments also provide various facilities at one place such as gym, departmental store, pharmacy and security. That would reduce tension and make people comfortable at one place. In addition to that, neighbours are living very close to each other that would help them to make a great bonding with each other that reduce isolation and immediately help them at first in any emergency situations. As a result, these apartments give better standard of living along with good community.
In conclusion, the approach of making tall apartments can not only be beneficial to the environment by providing more space to make a sustainable habitant and ecosystem but also give opportunity to experience a life in close networking with various facilities

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have identified both the environmental benefits and the community advantages of tall apartment blocks. However, the introduction mentions 'cons on human health' as a reason for your partial agreement, but this point is never developed in the body paragraphs, which is a minor omission. To reach a higher band, ensure that every point mentioned in your thesis statement is fully explored in the subsequent paragraphs. The ideas are relevant, but the development could be more detailed to fully support your position.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. You use cohesive devices such as 'The primary reason', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'to gain people significantly affect their natural environmental'. While the overall progression is clear, the use of cohesive devices could be more natural and varied to improve the flow between sentences and ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'deforestation', 'ecosystem', and 'sustainable'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'tackle high demand of houses' (should be 'housing'), 'effect the individuals' (should be 'affect'), and 'sustainable habitant' (should be 'habitat'). These errors occasionally impede the precision of your argument. To improve, focus on learning the correct word forms and common collocations used in academic writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'building skyscraper apartments is' (should be 'building skyscraper apartments is' or 'the building of...'), 'these types of housing is' (should be 'are'), and 'at first in any emergency situations'. These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. Increasing your control over basic grammar and punctuation will help improve your score.
