Student answer (Band 6.0)

Growing Population is increasing day by day, which ultimately leads to creat high demand for high-rise buildings in urban areas. Buidling high dense apartments can significantly reduce the risk of more land occupation. I firmly agree with this notion that by building skyscrappers is crucial to accommodate large number of people in a small area.

Cities attract more indivduals because , in modern locations, one can find better opportunities and high level of life and health standards. As more opportunities creats, more residentials want to grab it, for that purpose they shift to metropolitan area. To accommodate such large amount of people, multistories apartments are the best possible way to provide shelter while occuping the small area amd to sustain the beautification of the city. For instance, hostel city, the location most famouse among students, had build many high dimentional flats, they provide house living to more then 10,000 students in just 500 square area. It means that, how vital is to contruct tall apartments.

Moreover, huge number of families that reside close to each can have more interactions with each other. They can reach out in any dangerous situations and can riscue each other instead of waiting for the conercen healt professional to reach. So, high-rise buildings allow families to live close to each other, which could have a positive impact on their life to assist each other. For instance, one of my family member, who used to live on the 3rd floor apartment in skyscraper, had a cardaic arrest, No body was in house. A neighbour live closed approximity to him, notice him and immediately helped him to take to the hospital.

On the other hand, more high roof buildings in particular locations can lead to overcrowd the community or society. Peoples life could be full of disturbance due to the fact of noice and environmental pollution. But, as urbanisation is increasing significantly, skyscrapers are the paramount need to provide a proper house living to high number of families.

To conclude, contructing multi apartment buildings are indispensable need of the the modern cities, however we also need to keep in mind that can also lead to disturab and make envirmental pollution as well. However, I believe that building tower block is a key solution to accommodate thousand of residents.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating an agreement with the necessity of high-rise buildings. The ideas are relevant, focusing on land efficiency and social cohesion. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding social interaction is a bit anecdotal and could be more effectively linked to broader urban planning principles. While the counter-argument is acknowledged, it is slightly underdeveloped. Overall, the position is consistent throughout, and the main points are supported with examples, meeting the requirements for a Band 6.5 or 7.0. I have awarded a 6.5 as some points, particularly the social interaction argument, lack depth.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'For instance', and 'On the other hand' are used to guide the reader. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical or awkward, such as the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentence structures are repetitive. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow, which aligns with the criteria for a Band 6.5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common items like 'metropolitan', 'indispensable', and 'paramount'. However, there are several spelling errors ('Buidling', 'skyscrappers', 'indivduals', 'noice', 'disturab') and some awkward collocations ('high dimentional flats', 'house living'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the score. To reach a higher band, the student needs to improve spelling accuracy and use more precise academic collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('Growing Population is increasing', 'more opportunities creats', 'No body was in house') and article usage ('the 3rd floor apartment', 'the the modern cities'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some misplaced commas. While the writer attempts complex sentences, the frequency of errors prevents a higher score. The grammar is sufficient for communication but lacks the control required for a Band 7.0.
