Student answer (Band 5.0)
The better path to provide a enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. I agree with the statement because when we build a tall apartment blocks the people who do not have home they get his home in this blocks.
At the start, now I want to talk about the the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment because when the apartment is small in large cities and most of the people did not get his own home and if we built a tall apartment those people who do not get his own home in this city with this development they get this home if we done this activity there are no another place for build a new blocks we built a new blocks on a old building for example mostly when the visitors of other countries came to the big cities first of all they face a problem of living because they did not have home therefore to built a tall apartment is very important.
Secondly, I tell you my own experience two month ago me with my uncle went to Islamabad for some work and when we arrive at our location we need to saw and apartment for living and when we go in once apartment block we know that this apartment is full and there is no free block and where a person told me to go another side because where a tall apartment blocks and we get apartment easily because in recent years the develop a building and enough space there and when me and my uncle go to this place and we get apartment easily.
To sum up, tall apartments is very important because who do not get his apartment for nothing place and if we built a new tall apartments after that we did not face the problem of space because we have enough apartment for giving to people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The arguments provided, such as the need for housing for visitors or the personal anecdote about finding an apartment in Islamabad, are somewhat simplistic and lack depth. The response tends to over-generalize the benefits of tall buildings without considering potential drawbacks or alternative urban planning solutions. While the position is clear, the supporting ideas are not sufficiently extended to reach a higher band, as the reasoning remains at a basic level throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. Cohesive devices are used, but they are frequently mechanical or misused, such as the repetitive use of 'when' and 'because' to link clauses. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between the visitor experience and the general argument about tall buildings is weak. The transition between ideas is not always smooth, and the overall flow is hindered by the lack of varied linking words and logical connectors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey ideas with precision. Phrases like 'get his home' and 'tall apartment blocks' are used repeatedly throughout the text. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or an awareness of collocation. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the frequent use of basic, sometimes inaccurate, word choices (e.g., 'for nothing place') prevent the response from achieving a higher score. To improve, you should focus on learning synonyms and more sophisticated vocabulary related to urban development and housing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often faulty, leading to frequent grammatical errors. Issues include incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'if we done this activity'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'tall apartments is very important'), and awkward phrasing that occasionally impedes readability. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many run-on sentences that lack appropriate commas or conjunctions. The frequency of these errors is high, and they occur throughout the text, which significantly impacts the clarity of the writing.
