Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays construction is on its peak in the big cities the making of house become very common and mostly people is migrating from different cities to the big cities.
As for the overview The big cities are expanding at a high speed from time to time due to the large numbers of individuals migrating from the different cities to the big ones.
I totally agree with the statement by building apartments in the big cities because the large numbers of migration has made the city very polluted due to the large numbers of house construction also it requires a lot of space which is becoming very difficult for the big cities to adjust that numbers of house and for reduction they have to build tall apartments in the big cities to adjust that big numbers of people the advantages of the apartment is that we can adjust a lot number of individuals in very short space and also they can be protected by giving security and also near the apartments we can also provide different facilities like schools groceries shopping malls and by doing this it can also reduce traffic. And in that way we can avoid the making of enough homes and for that government have to make a law to not make a house so that they can purchase the apartments.
In the conclusion I would say that tall apartments is very important in the big cities due to shortage of space because lots of houses are made in the big cities and the space are not enough to adjust more houses.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention benefits like space efficiency and proximity to facilities, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. The suggestion that the government should ban the construction of houses is an extreme and underdeveloped point that detracts from the logical flow of the argument. To improve, focus on expanding your main points with specific examples or logical consequences rather than repeating the same phrases about 'big cities' and 'adjusting numbers'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. It is essentially composed of one very long, run-on paragraph that makes it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of ideas. There is a lack of effective cohesive devices; sentences are often linked by 'and' or 'also' in a repetitive manner. Paragraphing is absent, which is a significant weakness. To improve, you must organize your response into distinct paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs with clear topic sentences, and a conclusion. Use a wider variety of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to connect your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'big', 'making', and 'adjust'. There is a lack of precise academic vocabulary needed for an IELTS essay. For example, instead of 'making of house', you should use 'residential construction' or 'housing development'. The word 'adjust' is used incorrectly in several instances; 'accommodate' would be the appropriate term in the context of housing people. To improve, focus on learning collocations and synonyms to avoid repeating the same simple words throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people is migrating', 'numbers of house construction'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on, lacking proper punctuation, which makes the text difficult to parse. There is a lack of complex sentence structures; most sentences are simple or poorly connected. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and using punctuation to separate distinct thoughts rather than relying on 'and' to join everything.
