Student answer (Band 6.0)
The best solution to overcome the shortage of homes in lager cities is to construct tall apartment blocks and buildings.
I agree with this point of view that tall apartments can provide enough living place for people of larger cities. As we know that people world population is surging rapidly. Due to this problem people will face numerous challenges in their lives. Moreover, many accommodation issues will rise throughout the world. For instance, China is the world's most populated country in the world where more than of half people live in apartments to accommodate themselves and provide space for others.
By living in apartments and lager buildings people live like a community. Because in a community people will began to know everyone. Moreover, living in apartments people help in many maters of their neighbors such as, in wedding ceremony, on death of family members. The other significant importance of living in an apartment is that the rents of apartments are less than houses which helps people financially. On the other hand families are safe in apartments as compared to houses because several rooms are available on one floor of apartment. For example, people live like a family on apartment in addition they sacrifice anything to protect anyone on their apartment.
In conclusion, we should have to promote people to live in apartments because by this activity more people can accommodate in a place. Moreover, by this activity there will be enough place to live and we can accommodate our coming generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. The ideas are relevant, focusing on population density, community benefits, and cost-effectiveness. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding community support is a bit repetitive and lacks depth. While the position is clear throughout, the supporting examples, such as the mention of China, are brief and could be better integrated to strengthen the argument. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more detailed explanations or nuanced examples that directly link back to the core issue of urban housing shortages.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a logical progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Moreover' and 'For instance,' to link sentences. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the link between the example of China and the general argument could be smoother. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring they are used more naturally would enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'accommodation,' 'population,' and 'financially.' However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'lager' instead of 'larger,' 'maters' instead of 'matters,' and 'began' instead of 'begin.' The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic descriptors. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure you proofread for common spelling errors, which currently prevent the essay from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Examples include 'people world population is surging' (missing possessive), 'more than of half people' (incorrect preposition usage), and 'sacrifice anything to protect anyone on their apartment' (incorrect preposition). While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors—particularly with articles, prepositions, and verb forms—is noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement, and try to incorporate more complex structures with greater accuracy.
