Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the contemporary world, where resources are getting plummeted and living cost is going beyond the affordability, many people argued that constructing substantial apartments are better then making required houses. i firmly support this idea because less consumption of land. Moreover, more organised life style can be seen.

Firstly, the urbanisation is leading to enormous problem like reduction in land, water, soil resources and causing climate change. To mitigate these issues, we need sustainable plan to bolster the living cost, style. So by making large towers apartment, the harness of land become less. For instance, in today era, immense housing societies are being constructed, as a result of this, natural habitat is getting effected, deforestation, reduction in cultivated land are major issues, by constructing apartments and buildings, the more land can be taken by agriculture sector and many other sectors.

Secondly, In apartments, there could be better organize system rather than separate houses. To illustrate that, different billing, security system, essential necessities could be provided in budget friendly rather then each house have separate system and become exorbitant for overall economy.

Admittedly, critics argue about separate house give benefit like privacy, owning of land. But for better future apartment is better option for sustainable life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the arguments are underdeveloped. For instance, the point about 'organised lifestyle' is mentioned but lacks sufficient explanation or concrete examples to fully support the claim. The conclusion is also very brief. To improve, you must expand on your main points with more detailed reasoning and specific examples to ensure the task is fully addressed. The current length prevents a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay has a basic structure with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'To illustrate that', which helps the flow. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed due to the brevity of the paragraphs. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the link between billing systems and the overall economy is not fully explained. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus will help improve the logical flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'resources are getting plummeted' (should be 'depleted') and 'harness of land' (should be 'land usage'). You also use 'exorbitant' correctly, but other phrases like 'making required houses' are unnatural. To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—and try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to urban planning and sustainability to demonstrate a wider range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'many people argued' (should be 'argue'), 'natural habitat is getting effected' (should be 'affected'), and 'separate house give benefit' (should be 'houses give benefits'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb tenses, and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately without errors that distract the reader.
