Student answer (Band 5.0)
The most effective way to meet the needs of populated cities is to construct high-rise appartments.sometimes it is essential because there is less space in cities but sometimes it become very iritating in leaving these type of blocks.I partially agree or disagree with this statement.
On the one hand to live in an appartment is economically because they are cheap than buying own houses. In cities there is a major issue of land and we cannot built so many houses like lahore is a populated and very crowded city. There are many flats which have more than 50 appartments. Moreover, who cannot afford their personel home they can easily get it on rent and the rent amount is also less than house.
On the other hand,it have some negitive imapct also. Some time there is common electricity and gas connections which cause problems in paying bill.A very big problem is that which we can never neglect there is a water tank which supply water to whole building. For an example, last friday i was in my sisters house she lives in an appartment.we faced water shortage problem for three days because the building is not fulfilling the need of its resedents.
In conclusion, i partlly agree to living in appartments because they are neat and clean sometime we can find luxury appartments also, but somehow i disturb due to some cmmon issues in appartment. At the end living in appartment is more beneficial than construct a brand new house.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt but fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which negatively impacts the score. While you present a position, it is somewhat contradictory, stating you 'partially agree or disagree' in the introduction and then concluding that you 'partly agree'. The ideas regarding economic benefits and infrastructure challenges are relevant, but they are under-developed and lack sufficient depth to fully explore the complexities of urban housing. To improve, ensure you provide a clear, consistent stance and expand your arguments with more detailed analysis or broader societal implications to meet the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or missing. For instance, transitions like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the internal flow within paragraphs is disjointed. There are issues with referencing, such as 'it have some negitive imapct', where the pronoun 'it' lacks a clear antecedent. Additionally, punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas, disrupt the flow of the text. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear logical progression between sentences would enhance the coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'appartments' and 'houses'. There are several spelling errors, including 'appartments', 'personel', 'negitive', 'imapct', and 'resedents', which occasionally impede readability. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'economically' and 'luxury', the range is limited. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring accurate spelling. Avoid informal phrasing like 'my sisters house' and aim for more formal, objective language suitable for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('it have some negitive imapct'), article usage ('the building is not fulfilling the need of its resedents'), and tense consistency. Punctuation is also problematic, with many missing spaces after commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar limits the score. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and sentence construction, and proofread carefully to correct punctuation and spelling mistakes.
