Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but lacks depth in its arguments. While you mention the benefits of tall buildings, such as space efficiency, the points are underdeveloped and rely on vague assertions like 'advancement in the society' without specific explanation. The counter-argument regarding safety is relevant, but the example provided is unclear and lacks sufficient detail to support your position effectively. To improve, you should focus on providing concrete examples and explaining the 'why' behind your claims. Your position is stated, but it remains somewhat inconsistent throughout the essay, as you do not clearly argue for or against the statement, instead opting for a neutral stance that lacks a strong, cohesive argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the logical progression of ideas is often hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of clear cohesive devices. While you use transition words like 'Additionally' and 'Furthermore', they are sometimes used incorrectly or do not effectively link the ideas. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow your train of thought. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly relates to your overall argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'large buildings' and 'tall apartments' rather than exploring more precise synonyms or academic collocations. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'led down' instead of 'collapsed' and 'maximum people' instead of 'high population density'. These errors occasionally make your meaning unclear. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to urban planning and architecture, and pay closer attention to collocations to ensure your word choices sound natural in an academic context.

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'large building shows'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'provide space for maximum people in on place'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, which affects the flow of your writing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures before attempting more complex ones. Proofreading your work for common errors like verb tense consistency and article usage will significantly improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
