Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people suggest the idea of providing enough home in large cities is to build huge buildings that will provide space to live. I disagree with the idea, constructing huge buildings in large cities would provide enough house for peoples. But this idea has some disadvantages which are significant.
However, some individuals have phobia of height thus they don't want to live on top floors because of their fear. Constructing huge buildings in large cities has some disadvantages. Which are follow, the 100th floor might be a obstacle for birds and airplanes to fly also at the top floors of building the oxygen level is very low while the price of the top floors is not pocket friendly.
Furthermore, these huge buildings would provide enough living space to people but staying at the top floor will cost them so expensive in terms of financial and physical health.
To conclude, huge building give spaces for living but its not healthy for our pocket and physical health as of now they have their own disadvantages which we can't ignore them. Hence, i disagree with the idea that construct huge buildings will providing enough space for living.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state a clear position, the arguments provided are underdeveloped and rely on scientifically inaccurate claims, such as the assertion that oxygen levels are significantly lower on the top floors of apartment buildings. The response lacks the depth required for an Academic Task 2 essay, as the points are presented as a list rather than a cohesive, supported argument. To improve, you must expand your ideas with relevant examples and ensure your reasoning is logical and grounded in reality.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into short paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'However' and 'Furthermore', the transitions between sentences are often mechanical or confusing. For example, the phrase 'Which are follow' is grammatically incorrect and disrupts the logical progression of your argument. The conclusion is repetitive and does not effectively summarize the main points. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that supports your overall position.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'huge buildings' and 'enough space'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'cost them so expensive' and 'pocket friendly', which are not appropriate for an academic context. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, and focus on using words in their correct collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'huge building give spaces'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'Which are follow, the 100th floor might be a obstacle'). The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which are necessary for higher band scores. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction before attempting more complex forms, and pay close attention to pluralization and verb tenses.
