Student answer (Band 5.5)

The best way to provide enough homes in large cities to the peoples who lived nearby, The best way to accommodate them is to build tall apartment. Because every individual can't afford to have a home for themselves when inflation is too high and large cities are mostly expenses and compare to suburb areas.

If i talk about my personal experience, so i am totally agreed with the statement. Big cities are having a often properties crises and people do not get homes easily on time or their is huge demand as well. Another reason is Immigrants, Mostly people try to move to big cities for better opportunities so they usually prefer to live in an apartment rather then home because firstly it is cheap to live and convenient for them because the reasonable rent they are paying for their housing, In this way they can save more money and spend those money on their basic living and rest they save for their future aspects.

In the Summary, I agreed more apartments should be built by the government in big metropolitan cities to accommodate larger number of audience in the whole country. This way more talent people move to the big cities and Large MNC's Companies will able to find the right talent for their company and country will become more stable economically. One more advantage for the government by build a tall apartment blocks in the city, this way more homeless people will find the home for themselves and they will able to start their new life from scratch.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention economic stability and housing for the homeless, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the connection between tall buildings and MNC talent acquisition is asserted but not logically explained. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or nuanced reasoning to support your claims. The response is somewhat informal in tone, which detracts from the academic nature of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'In the Summary' is an unconventional way to start a conclusion, and the transition between ideas within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'their' without a clear antecedent. Improving the variety and precision of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') would significantly enhance the flow and logical progression of your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'big cities' and 'good opportunities' repeatedly. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'properties crises' instead of 'housing crisis' and 'talent people' instead of 'talented individuals'. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary related to urban planning and economics, and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Large MNC's Companies will able to'), incorrect verb tenses, and punctuation errors. For example, the first paragraph is a run-on sentence that lacks proper structure. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly the use of articles, pluralization, and modal verbs, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for these recurring errors is essential.
