Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, reaching only 85 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the development of ideas is severely limited. While you state a clear position in the introduction, the supporting argument is cut off mid-sentence. To achieve a higher band, you must provide a full introduction, two or three body paragraphs with well-developed arguments and examples, and a clear conclusion. The current length prevents any meaningful exploration of the topic, resulting in a failure to meet the basic requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text is too short to demonstrate effective paragraphing or a logical progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with' and 'For example', the abrupt ending makes it impossible to assess your ability to manage cohesion across a full essay. The structure is currently fragmented, and the lack of a complete argument prevents the flow of information necessary for a higher score. You need to focus on expanding your ideas into full, coherent paragraphs that follow a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, such as the repeated use of 'construct' and 'house'. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'cquired land' (likely meant 'acquired') and 'ample of reason' (should be 'ample reasons'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To improve, you should aim to use a wider variety of topic-specific vocabulary related to urban planning and housing, and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the short text, including missing articles ('a single building cquired land'), incorrect verb forms ('are build'), and punctuation issues. The sentence structures are simple and often contain errors that impede clarity, such as 'it has found that the better option to provide houses'. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles. Increasing your range of complex structures will also be necessary once you have mastered the basics of sentence accuracy.
