Student answer (Band 5.5)
the construction of huge apartment building in large cities is outstanding idea to provide sufficient houses. I agree with the forementioned view as government of that area can deal with the difficulty that individuals are facing to live in advanced cities.
The first and foremost reason is that people will find it convenient and accessible. to explain, residents will be able to live in populated area with ease . Furthermore, citizens will be able to take benefits of that area. To cite an example, a person who is new to an area will face difficulty in investing in property so it will be good for them to buy these sort of apartments.
The second reason is environment safety. Over crowded cities are ignoring environment responsibilities that will lead to crisis for our future generation. Therefore, it is a positive development for humans. However, we cannot ignore its negative aspects like building large multiple floors is risk for people living in that area. in situations like natural disasters. That will result in high risk of lives of humans. In addition, it can be improved by better construction methods that can be introduced by architectures .
In conclusion, I site my opinion that it is advisable to build only two or three floors in building so that it could not risk lives of people living in that apartment. Other than that it is having positive aspects like saving environment and proving houses to middle class.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt but fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While you present a clear position, the arguments are somewhat underdeveloped. For instance, the point about 'environment safety' is mentioned but lacks specific explanation or evidence to support how tall buildings specifically aid the environment. Additionally, your conclusion contradicts your initial agreement by suggesting only 'two or three floors', which weakens the consistency of your argument. To improve, ensure you fully expand on each point with concrete examples and maintain a consistent stance throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. Phrases like 'The first and foremost reason' and 'The second reason' are standard, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. The logical progression is hindered by the contradiction in the conclusion, where you suggest limiting building height after arguing for tall apartment blocks. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that your conclusion logically follows from your body paragraphs will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'huge', 'good', and 'positive aspects'. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'I site my opinion' (should be 'cite' or 'state') and 'take benefits of' (should be 'benefit from'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to urban planning, such as 'high-density housing', 'sustainable development', or 'urban sprawl'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the construction of huge apartment building' (missing article/pluralization), 'is risk for people' (missing article), and 'architectures' (should be 'architects'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some spacing issues before commas and periods. To reach a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately without errors in word order or tense.
