Student answer (Band 6.0)
THE BETTER OPTION TO PROVIDE HOUSES IN THE BIG CITIES ARE , TO CONSTRUCT TALL BUILDINGS BLOCKS.I THINK IT IS GOOD IDEA TO BALANCE THE SHORTCOMING OF SPACES IN THE LARGE CITIES.
TO BEGIN WITH THE BENEFITS OF CONSTRUCTING BIG STOREY BUILDINGS IN THE URBAN AREAS ARE , IT SHOULD BE EXTREMELY HELPFUL FOR WORKING INDIVIDUALS TO LIVE NEAR THEIR WORKPLACE AS MANY BIG INDUSTRIES ARE LOCATED IN THE URBAN SITES AND PEOPLE ARE SHIFTING FROM THEIR HOME LOCATION TO NEAR THE WORK AREA ,SO IT WILL HELP THEM TO SAVE THEIR TIME AND MONEY. AS THEY PREFER TO RENT A APARTMENT RATHER THAN BUILDING THEIR OWN HOUSE . MOREOVER, NOWADAYS THERE ARE HUGE SHORTAGE OF LAND IN THE CITY AREA AND PROPLE FIND IT DIFFICULT TO PURCHASE A LAND FOR BUILD THEIR HOUSES SO IT SHOULD BE BETTER IF THERE SHOULD BE FACILITY TO BUY AN APARTMENT IN A BUILDING RATHER THAN FINDING THE SEPARATE LAND. FOR INSTANCE, PROPLE ARE SHIFTING FROM RURAL AREAS TO URBAN AREA FOR MANY REASONS AND IN A BIG BLOCK BUILDING MANY PEOPLE LIVE IN A SAME AREA INSTEAD OF CONSTRUCTING HUNDREDS OF SEPARATE HOUSES.
FURTHERMORE, DUE TO HIGH POPULATION AND THEIR RISING NEED OF HOUSES , FORCES TO CUT FORESTS RAPIDLY WHICH EFFECTS GLOBAL WARMING AS WELL AS ANIMALS LOST THEIR HOUSES TOO. SO CONSTRUCTING BIG BUILDINGS CAN SHELTER MANY FAMILIES IN A SAME PIECE OF LAND RATHER THAN CONSTRUCTING A HOUSE FOR EACH ONE OF THEM IN SEPARATE LAND. FOR EXAMPLE, DUE TO DEFORESTATION, GLACIER ARE MELTING AND IT EFFECTS GLOBAL WARMING . SO FOR SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT WE NEED TO PROTECT THE FOREST AND BUILDING BIG APARTMENTS ARE BEST OPTION TO REDUCE CUTTING OF TREES.
IN CONCLUSION, BUILDING TALL APARTMENTS HELPS TO SHELTER MANY INDIVIDUALLY IN A SAME AREA APART FROM IT IT CAN ALSO HELP TO PROTECT FORESTS BEING DIMINISHED FOR THE NEED OF MILLION OF SINGLE HOUSES. BESIDES , IT WILL ALSO SUPPORT WILD ANIMALS TO STAY IN THEIR HOMES.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by arguing in favor of tall apartment blocks. The position is clear throughout. The ideas regarding convenience for workers and environmental protection are relevant and developed. However, the essay tends to over-generalize, and the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument about deforestation is mentioned in the second paragraph and then repeated in the conclusion without adding new depth. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more specific examples or nuanced counter-arguments to demonstrate a more comprehensive understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the benefits for individuals to the broader environmental impact. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', 'In conclusion'). Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the use of 'it' in 'it should be better if there should be facility'. While the overall structure is coherent, the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their intended nouns.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'big storey buildings' instead of 'high-rise buildings' and 'shortcoming of spaces' instead of 'lack of space'. Some collocations are also non-standard, such as 'purchase a land' (should be 'purchase land'). While the meaning is clear, the vocabulary is somewhat basic and repetitive, which limits the score. Expanding your range to include more academic collocations would significantly improve your performance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('glacier are melting'), incorrect article usage ('a apartment'), and punctuation errors, such as unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. The sentence construction is often clunky, which occasionally forces the reader to re-read to grasp the intended meaning. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles, as these errors are currently quite frequent.
