Student answer (Band 6.0)

The easiest way to supply houses in big cities is to make high rising skyscrapers with apartments blocks. I completely agree with the statement as increasing population in a city means increasing demand of homes with increased employment rates which can be fulfilled by making good infrastructure of the city.

As the population of a specific city increases, it is impossible to increase the land area so the easiest way to accumulate the people in the area is by developing big project for their dream homes as big buildings can accommodate thousands of people who might to struggling to find a place in the city and must to travelling long distances to their jobs. Moreover, such big projects will generate employment and can be beneficial to the economy of the nation. For instance, Noida is booming in providing flats to the people who work in the big multinational company, so they don't have to travel and get stuck in traffic for hours if they are living nearby to their offices.

By building good infrastructure of the city, government will benefit by receiving more tax from the residents, as there will be profit shares to the builder and state. The society made are sold on a high profitable price and which helps in boosting the economy. The life in these building is really fast neighbors don't interact much with other families. By having so many homes government can help some homeless people by making them stay in the vacant spaces.

In conclusion, the best way to accommodate humans in a civilized manner is by providing them flats by which a large number of people can stay in one building.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of land scarcity and economic benefits, though some points are under-developed. For instance, the argument about social interaction in high-rise buildings is introduced but not clearly linked to the overall thesis of whether this is the 'best' way to provide housing. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and lacks a summary of the main points. To improve, you should ensure each paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-supported argument that directly reinforces your stance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'For instance' to link sentences. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'The society made are sold on a high profitable price'. Some transitions feel mechanical, and the referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the third paragraph where the connection between tax revenue and social housing for the homeless is abrupt. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the essay read more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'infrastructure', 'multinational company', and 'accommodate'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'make high rising skyscrapers' (instead of 'construct' or 'develop'), 'accumulate the people' (instead of 'accommodate'), and 'high profitable price'. These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the score. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing like 'big' and 'make'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the fluency of the text. Examples include 'must to travelling' (should be 'have to travel'), 'The society made are sold' (should be 'The housing units are sold'), and 'neighbors don't interact much with other families' (which is a run-on or comma splice issue). While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range. Focus on subject-verb agreement and correct modal verb usage.
