Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 176 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state a position, the arguments are underdeveloped and repetitive. For instance, you mention 'saving space' in both the second and third paragraphs without providing specific, well-supported examples or a nuanced discussion of the topic. The response is also incomplete, ending abruptly with 'On the other hand,'. Because the task is not fully addressed and the length is insufficient, the response falls into the lower band range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay shows some attempt at paragraphing, but the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In addition' and 'consequently', but they are often used incorrectly or repetitively. For example, 'consequently' is used twice in the same sentence structure, which is awkward. The lack of a conclusion and the abrupt ending further disrupt the logical flow of the argument, making it difficult for the reader to follow a coherent line of reasoning.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You frequently use basic phrases like 'build tall apartment block' and 'prove beneficial'. There are several word-choice errors, such as 'bring tall apartment block' instead of 'construct' or 'develop', and 'well settled in home' which is not a standard collocation. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively, and the errors in word formation and collocation are noticeable throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The grammar is characterized by frequent errors that often impede clarity. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement ('demand of houses increase'), tense usage ('if enough homes will provide'), and sentence structure ('Due to the fact that, if enough homes...'). Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper grammatical control. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are almost always faulty. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods.
