Firstly, building tall residential blocks is the efficient way to deal with limited space in large cities as many families could accomodate on a small piece of land. However; it could also reduce the cost and rent as compared to the urban houses. Secondly, the individuals could commute easily to offices, schools, hospitals and public transports. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position, the arguments are underdeveloped. For example, the point about 'emergency' situations is mentioned but not explained with sufficient depth or specific examples. The conclusion is also incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence. To improve, you must expand on your points with more detailed explanations and relevant examples to ensure the task is fully addressed. The current length prevents a thorough exploration of the topic, leading to a lower score in this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay uses basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover' to structure the response. However, the flow is sometimes mechanical, and the paragraphing is inconsistent. The final paragraph is incomplete, which disrupts the overall coherence of the argument. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the lack of sufficient development and the abrupt ending make the essay feel disjointed. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your concluding paragraph provides a full summary of your position rather than trailing off.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'accomodate' (accommodate), 'exacuvate' (evacuate), 'expouser' (exposure), and 'conculsion' (conclusion). Additionally, some word choices are awkward, such as 'chancing to strong their bond' instead of 'the opportunity to strengthen their bonds'. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and practice using collocations—words that naturally go together—to make your writing sound more natural and sophisticated.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'it also have some drawbacks' (it also has), 'numerous of drawbacks' (numerous drawbacks), and 'impacts on the health of individua' (impacts the health of individuals). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the misuse of semicolons. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Proofreading your work for basic errors like missing word endings or incorrect verb forms will help improve your accuracy significantly.
