Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, home crisis has become a subject of debate in many countries. Some argue that the construction of big building is the best method to provide houses for people in large cities. I completely agree with statement because its takes less area and reasonable price.
One of the main reasons to build tall apartments are reasonable price. The price of property is higher in cities, and normal people cannot afford to purchase a house. Therefore, the government is starting to constructing flats that are lower in price. For example, in London the higher number of people are living in flat because they cannot buy a home. Thus, it also resolve house issues as well as resident to many people.
Similarly, another reason for constructing high-rise is takes less area. Government has built apartments in cities due to less available land. Moreover, the population is increasing every year as a result construction of large building flat blocks only solution. For instance, in Karachi because of the shortage of land, the government allow apartments which takes less area. They provides resident to thousands of individuals.
In contrast, some think that construction of large building cause accidents. These high-rise may fall anytime whenever there is an earth quick or explosion. The state may set limits on floors of the building to minimize the risk.
In conclusion, tall apartments are good for the public and government, it resolves house crises as well as give shelter for higher number of people. It is better use of land and good for future as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'reasonable price' and 'less area' as key arguments, the supporting examples, such as the mention of London and Karachi, are brief and lack depth. To reach a higher band, you should expand on how exactly tall buildings solve these issues, perhaps by discussing urban planning or social benefits in more detail. The conclusion restates your position, but the overall argument remains a bit repetitive. Ensure that each paragraph provides a distinct, well-supported point to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Therefore', 'Similarly', and 'In contrast' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'Thus, it also resolve house issues as well as resident to many people', where the phrasing is awkward and disrupts the flow. Additionally, the transition between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'big building', 'house issues', and 'good'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'resident to many people' (should be 'provide housing for many people') and 'earth quick' (should be 'earthquake'). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to urban development, such as 'high-density housing', 'urban sprawl', or 'infrastructure'. Expanding your range will help you express your ideas with greater clarity and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. For example, 'its takes less area' (should be 'it takes'), 'the government is starting to constructing' (should be 'to construct'), and 'the government allow apartments' (should be 'allows'). Subject-verb agreement and verb form errors are common throughout the text. While you attempt complex sentences, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for these fundamental errors will help you achieve a higher score.
