Student answer (Band 6.0)

Home is comfort place for everyone and by the end of the day every common individual want to spend their time at home also property is complete with the presence of our loved ones. The clever strategy to give enough space for land in big cities is to construct extended flats. In my opinion, building tall apartments is beneficial for the large and over populated cities so i agree with this statement.

FIrstly and Foremost, Manufacturing big apartments blocks in large urban areas is a good idea because in the cities are usually over populated and if the apartments are being constructed so the higher rate of population would buy them and live there because apartments are cost effective than a home. For instance, Land owners usually make giant apartments they build almost seven to ten homes in that space and from small families to large families they buy their home and live their life because it is much cost saving than a single home and the land owner also earns more. Therefore, everyone can afford apartments and have their own land to live.

Secondaly, nowadays neighborhood concept is almost gone from the societies because everyone is busy in their own life. However, the idea of neighboring is still alive in flats people actually live thier life together and they prioritize to take care of each others. For example, if any emergency happened to any family neighbors are supposed to reach to them first in this case only apartments population have unity it can not be seen in the homes in large cities. Consequently, Person next door in the flats are more helpful than a people who are living in a street.

In conclusion, although living in a street home can be a good source of enjoying your own freedom in large cities but i believe living in an apartment is a good way to save up some money and live the life as a one unit with the overall population of that building.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. The ideas presented—cost-effectiveness and community cohesion—are relevant to the topic. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'neighborhood concepts' is a bit anecdotal and could be strengthened with more analytical depth regarding urban planning or infrastructure. While the position is consistent throughout, the supporting arguments rely on generalizations rather than a more nuanced exploration of the trade-offs involved in high-density living. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more sophisticated reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. The use of cohesive devices such as 'Firstly and Foremost', 'For instance', and 'Consequently' helps guide the reader through the argument. However, some of these transitions are slightly mechanical or used incorrectly, such as 'Secondaly' (spelling error) and the awkward phrasing 'in this case only apartments population have unity'. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences occasionally feels disjointed due to grammatical errors. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words would enhance the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'Manufacturing big apartments blocks' (instead of 'constructing') and 'the idea of neighboring is still alive'. The student relies on basic vocabulary, and there is a lack of topic-specific terminology related to urban development or housing policy. While the meaning is generally clear, the range is limited, and there are occasional errors in word formation that slightly detract from the professional tone of the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('every common individual want'), article usage ('the land owner'), and punctuation errors. Some sentences are run-on or lack necessary prepositions, such as 'live their life' instead of 'live their lives'. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, the student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and verb forms, before attempting more complex sentence structures.
