Student answer (Band 6.0)
The best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks.
Agree or disagree.
Due to the changing dynamics of population growth, the shortage of housing is increasing significantly. Most of the big cities around the globe are facing this challenge. So, the solve this issue Some people focus on building apartment blocks to facilitate more people in these houses. I strongly agree to this view to resolve the issue of housing shortage. That governments can stress more on these small housing units. This would be another positive attitude towards the affordable housing as well.
On the one hand, the population is growing rapidly. Therefore, large cities globally are facing housing shortage. The supply chain can not introduce the new houses to the scale that matches with population increase. Moreover, as big cities are often perceived as hubs of career opportunities, so large groups of people flock to these cities, consequently leaving housing supplies overwhelmed. So promoting builders towards the sky rocketing apartments would be a considerable option towards housing market producing enough houses for communities. For instance, due to the large immigrant numbers moving to Canada, current Canada is dealing with same issue. Big metropolitan cities like Toronto and Vancouver housing real estate markets are collapsing leading to the high prices for the houses. So large apartment blocks can resolve this issue more effeciently.
On the other hands, more high rise apartment blocks can not be suitable for every age group. People like seniors and young children may not fit suitable in those tight spaces. As those buildings are not as spacious as full fledged single family houses. Elderly people can be pushed toward mental stress in those closed small houses.
In conclusion, I would like to add that introducing more apartments to public can be effective to address housing problem, but would not be ideal for retired group and young families with children.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments regarding the necessity of high-rise buildings due to population growth and urbanization. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the impact on seniors and children, this point is not fully extended or balanced against the main argument. The conclusion is a bit brief and does not fully synthesize the points made. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is explored with more depth and specific examples, rather than just stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'On the one hand' and 'In conclusion', to signal shifts in the argument. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'So, the solve this issue Some people focus...' and the repetitive use of 'So' at the beginning of sentences. Referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'metropolitan', 'real estate', and 'housing shortage'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'facilitate more people' (instead of 'accommodate') and 'sky rocketing apartments' (which is slightly misused in this context). There is also a spelling error: 'effeciently'. To improve, focus on using collocations more accurately and expanding your range of academic vocabulary to avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'That governments can stress more on these small housing units' (fragmented sentence), 'supply chain can not introduce the new houses to the scale that matches with population increase' (awkward phrasing), and 'On the other hands' (incorrect pluralization). Punctuation is also inconsistent in places. To achieve a higher score, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with greater grammatical precision.
