Student answer (Band 5.5)
It has been observed that now large cities are feel incomplete without tall apartments because now a large number of people prefer to live in tall buildings. The best way to give sufficient homes in cities is to build tall building blocks because it helped the government to keep the city modern and well civilized. I agree with the given statement to a large extent. My inclination is elaborated in ensuing paragraph and relevant examples.
In bad weathers it is also a chance that with the wind the building may fall and made a cause of destruction if it is not build with complete safety instructions that are necessary before the constructions of every building. For instance, if the manufacture is not educated and he cannot follow the safety measures like using the best material used for buildings than there is chance that the apartments may damage in bad weather. My view is that, the tall apartment are very important in large cities because these buildings show the development and success of the city.
Another thing is that it also reduces the area that is required for many homes but if there is a building with big apartments then it also reduces space because it can merge all the homes in it. In addition, it is also cost affective and best for low income families because they enjoy the facilities of city in just small cost rather than buying a new house. So, it is best option for such families.
To conclude, I strongly agree that new tall apartments are the best options for providing many homes in a single place but the should need to take action on the safety measures kept by building. So, the best option for enough home are tall apartments.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention safety concerns and space efficiency, the arguments lack depth and specific evidence. For instance, the paragraph regarding safety is slightly contradictory, as it focuses on the risks of construction rather than directly supporting or refuting the necessity of tall buildings. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a clear, well-supported argument that directly relates to the prompt. The conclusion is repetitive and does not add new insight or summarize the main points effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'Another thing is', 'In addition', 'So'). There are instances where the logical progression between sentences is weak, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from weather concerns to construction quality feels disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'it' without a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows logically from the previous one will help achieve a higher band score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'big', 'best', and 'good'. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'manufacture' (when referring to a builder or contractor) and 'cost affective' (which should be 'cost-effective'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary limits the score. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to urban planning and housing, and try to use more precise adjectives and nouns to express your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'cities are feel'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'if it is not build'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'the should need to take action'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like tense consistency and pluralization.
