Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often contented that sufficient requirement space for house is possible if establish a large number of story buildings in metropolis. I strongly agree with this the given statement and I will elucidate the reasons behind my stance.

To begin with, to reduce the congestion in urban cities. It can be seen that megapolis have higher population rate due to numerous career options , which influence people to migrate from countryside to urban area and the government constructed tall apartment blocks ,it beneficial for public to find convenient place and also overcome congestions. For example, recently is difficult for developer to provide enough homes , in addition they build tall building in order to everyone live peacefully.

Furthermore, it help the economy system of a particular city. However, authorities invest money to buy number of plots and establish apartment block, it is not profitable to the government or owner as well as it costly for local people. For instance, the price rate of small piece of land is expensive in megacities ,if landlord allocate funds in one tall building , it will reduce resources and money .Moreover, they sell in affordable price apartments so middle class family purchase without worry.

In contrast, higher responsibility with the highest buildings . It is constructed with caution because it depend on heavy base so they tackle any natural climate and people live without fear of harm .Although, I firmly opine that much more favorable to establish tall apartments blocks for enough home requirement .

To sum up, it can be reiterated that it is significant to considerable homes in urban cities to reduce congestion and grow of economic value in with the greatest responsibilities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of tall apartment blocks. While the main ideas—reducing congestion and economic efficiency—are relevant, they are not fully developed. For instance, the argument regarding economic benefits is somewhat confusing, as it suggests that building tall is both costly and affordable. The explanation lacks depth and specific, well-integrated examples to support the claims. The conclusion reiterates the position, but the overall development remains superficial, which limits the score. To improve, you should focus on providing clearer, more logical links between your arguments and the prompt, ensuring each paragraph contains a well-explained point rather than fragmented ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'To begin with', 'Furthermore', 'In contrast'), they are sometimes used incorrectly or do not effectively connect the sentences. For example, the transition 'However, authorities invest money...' does not logically follow the previous sentence. Additionally, some sentences are grammatically incomplete or lack clear referencing, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically builds upon the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'sufficient requirement space for house' instead of 'sufficient housing' and 'price rate' instead of 'cost'. Some phrases are also non-standard, such as 'natural climate' when referring to structural safety. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the reliance on basic vocabulary prevent a higher score. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to urban planning and housing to express your ideas more naturally and precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it help the economy'), missing articles, and incorrect sentence structures (e.g., 'It is often contented that...'). Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation, which affects the clarity of your writing. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors like article usage and verb tense consistency.
