Student answer (Band 5.5)

To provide enough homes to a large population in a huge urban areas is to build tall apartment blocks has a significant approch. I believe this technique is really helpful to provide shelter to a large community in cities and allow them to avail belonging facilities.

First of all, most people move to cities since they can avail many amenities near by their places and it is difficult to provide single story home to everyone because it requires a lot of space. However, in cities large proportion of land is occupied by the organizations such as police station, education system, healthcare centers and many more. Consequently, there is a fewer space to build homes but we can utilize it by building the tall blocks that consist of multiple floor and each portion can have many appartments. For example, if a 5 marla area contained a home that have 3 floor, three families can easily survive there.

In addition, as tall buildings can provide homes to many people furthermore, it offers multiple facilities such as management which helps to built comfortable area for locals. However, management includes security, cleaning and internet services. The members of the area can subscribe a package and can enjoy them in a lower amount conversily, the owner of the home has to mantain everything by him and sometimes it becomes challanging to maintain home and work at the same time.

To sum up, tall building blocks provide enough space for individuals to live there and I agree that it is a best way because people can avail facilities in a busy city life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas, such as land scarcity and the benefits of shared management in tall buildings, are relevant. However, the development is somewhat limited. The example provided regarding '5 marla' is specific but lacks broader context, and the argument could be strengthened by exploring potential drawbacks or more sophisticated urban planning concepts. While the task is addressed, the depth of analysis is more characteristic of a Band 6, as the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack the nuance required for higher bands.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'However', 'In addition', and 'To sum up', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are used awkwardly, such as 'conversily' (misspelled) and 'furthermore' used mid-sentence. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical. While the overall progression is logical, the lack of sophisticated linking and occasional misuse of cohesive devices limits the score to a Band 6.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'avail belonging facilities', 'fewer space', and 'built comfortable area'. Spelling errors like 'approch', 'appartments', 'mantain', and 'challanging' are present. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited range and frequent errors in word choice and spelling prevent a higher score. The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles with collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'To provide enough homes... is to build tall apartment blocks has a significant approch' (a run-on/fragmented structure) and 'a home that have 3 floor'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While the student attempts complex sentences, the control is not consistent, and errors in punctuation and grammar are noticeable throughout the text. The writing demonstrates a basic level of control but lacks the accuracy required for a higher band.
