Student answer (Band 6.0)
As the world became more urbanized, the space left for building homes in cities is limited. To address this problem, it is often suggested that the building tall apartments is the most effective way to provide sufficient houses in large cities. I completely agree with this assertion, as more people live in a apartments, it helps to reduce the deforestation and improves standards of living.
There are several reasons to support my view but a major one is that, it significantly can reduce the unnecessary cut down of trees. To justify, As the population rising continuously, to provide each home with basic amenities, forest are cutting down on regular basis. It eventually harm the environment. A clear illustration to prove my stance, a research Carried out showed that, every years thousands of forests are cut down to build home and offices for the people. As a result, it negatively effects eco-system. Hence it became necessary to build tall apartment blocks.
Furthermore, it helps to improve the standard of living of people. To elaborate, firstly when 100's of people starts living in the same apartment, the land which is going to build houses become preserve and the higher authorities can provide all the necessary amenities around these apartment. People can access all the facilities at door step, it reduce their travel time. Moreover that free land land can use for building parks and gardens. So, people after a busy day can relax in these gardens. To cite an example, in metropolitan cities, where lands are limited, builders with the approvals of government usually build apartments and provide safe environment for the people to live. Moreover, it can lead to best practice of waste management. Municipal parties can easily manage the waste. Hence, it improves the quality of life and become a effective way to develop the city properly.
In conclusion, from my perspective, the higher authorities need to develop apartments with all the facilities, so, that unnecessary deforestation can reduce and people can live comfortable life in cities in more secured environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding environmental preservation and quality of life are relevant and supported with examples. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, and some points, such as the claim about waste management, are introduced briefly without deep exploration. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully extended with more specific, logical analysis rather than relying on general statements. The conclusion effectively restates the position, though it could have been more concise.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'To justify, As the population rising continuously'. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'urbanized', 'metropolitan', and 'amenities'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'unnecessary cut down of trees' (instead of 'deforestation') and 'land which is going to build houses become preserve' (instead of 'preserved'). These errors do not impede communication but prevent the response from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is usually clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('every years thousands of forests are cut down'), article usage ('a apartments'), and verb tense consistency ('it negatively effects' instead of 'affects'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary commas and capitalization issues. While the student attempts complex structures, the frequency of these errors is noticeable and occasionally distracts from the message.
